FAQs

How long do we get in the escape room?
All of our Escape Room games have a one hour time limit, however some teams may escape faster then the hour if they are super clever!
Please allow up to 75 minutes for the entire experience including rules, game introductions, 60 minute game time plus post game photos.
 
Lost in Wonderland is the only exception as our first 90 minute escape room! Please allow up to 105 minutes for the entire experience including rules, game introductions, 90 minute game time plus post game photos.

 

 

How many participants can play an escape room?
All of our rooms (except for Tipsy Whispers and Lost in Wonderland) have a capacity for 2 to 6 participants. 
Tipsy Whispers has a capacity for 2 to 5 participants
Lost in Wonderland has a capacity for 4 to 8 participants.
 
If you have an extra person in your group, we can usually accommodate one more participant into a group. Please contact us to add an extra participant.
 
Please note that under 7s are free of charge and do not count as a participant. Min. participant numbers will still apply.

Is there a minimum age?
Red Lock Escape Rooms welcome players of all ages to our A51 Security Breach, Area 52, Bank Heist, The Vampire Crypt, The Wizard’s Apprentice and Lost in Wonderland rooms, however at least one adult participant is recommended to join player groups under 12.
 
Aunt Annie’s Asylum & CarnEVIL are not recommenced for players under 12 due to scary themes.
Tipsy Whispers is not recommended for players under 12 due to it’s hard difficulty level

*Please note there is no charge for children under 7, as long as the room minimum numbers have been met.

Can I pay cash to book?
We accept cash in store to book a future time. To book online or over the telephone we do need a credit/debit card payment to reserve the time slot for you. Unfortunately we cannot reserve a time for you without a payment.

 

Do you accept Companion Cards?
Yes! Companion Cards are accepted at Red Lock Escape Rooms, however the room minimum participant numbers must be met before adding companions. Companion card holders are free of charge, and do not count as a participant. 
 
For our 60 minute rooms, payment for a minimum of 2 participants is required. Simply show your Companion Card upon arrival to add a third or additional eligible support person per participant of up to a maximum of 6 participants per group.
 
For our 90 minute room (Lost in Wonderland), payment for a minimum of 4 players is required. Simply show your Companion Card upon arrival to add a fifth or additional eligible support person per participant of up to a maximum of 8 participants per group.
 
We may consider allowing slightly increased capacity where multiple companions are supporting multiple participants (i.e. 4 + 4) and encourage you to contact us directly for such arrangements.
What happens if I need to cancel/reschedule?
If you need to reschedule or cancel your game you can do so up to 24 hours prior to the start of your game for a full refund.
 
No refunds are provided for booking changes or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
 
For cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, please note that a $90 cancellation fee will apply, with the remaining booking balance provided as a credit.
 
For reduced player numbers with less than 24 hours notice, a credit or gift card will be provided for the change in value.

 

 

What time should I arrive?
All players should arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time.

 

 

Late arrivals?
Sessions are booked back to back so you must arrive on time. We recommend that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in. Your Escape Room game begins at your booked time. 
 
If you arrive late and miss your session you will not receive a credit or a refund
 

 

 

Will I be sharing a room with strangers?
No, Red Lock rooms are all booked as private rooms, therefore whether you book as a group of 2 or 6, you will always have the room to yourself.

 

 

Is the door really locked?
Nope! The room escape games real life setting is completely immersive once you’re inside. However, for the safety and enjoyment of all players, a participant may exit a live room escape game at any time. Keep in mind, if a player exits, the timer will not be paused.

 

 

What should I bring with me?
Your inner Sherlock Holmes! The answers to the clues, riddles and puzzles are all in the room, but you will be looking for clues, working with your team mates, and applying logic reasoning to escape. We have an allocated space for your belongings inside lockers and unfortunately, food or opened drinks cannot be taken into the rooms.
 
Comfortable shoes and reading glasses are recommended.

 

 

Can I hire a room for a private event?

Does Lost in Wonderland require a minimum of 4 players?
Yes, our Lost in Wonderland escape room has a 4-person minimum requirement. This is due to the unique design of the game, which includes many nonlinear puzzles and a specific challenge that requires four players to solve.
 
This room also has a 4/5 difficulty rating and is designed to challenge groups of 4-8 players within a 90-minute time limit.
